David Babayan comments on the status quo of Karabakh conflict
Talks about changing the status quo of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are not viewed in terms of border and territorial changes in Artsakh. David Babayan, a spokesman for the Nagorno-Karanbakh leader told “Armenpress” referring to the statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's about the unacceptability of status quo in Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Babayan noted that such conversations need to be considered in several dimensions. “Status quo means the negotiation process itself and the unresolved status of a conflict. Everyone wants to have the dispute resolved, but it does not mean at all that the border issue should be changed, they simply want to move the process forward,” Babayan said. According to him, it may hardly be possible in the nearest future, depending on a number of circumstances.
